Concept redesign for The Lucky Pirate Chop House — not the live site

Brookings, Oregon

Hand-cut steaks. Fish off the boat.

A chop house on the south coast — steaks cut in house, rockfish and lobster on the same menu as a $12 kids' burger.

What's actually good here

Not another bar that changes hands every year.

One of our own reviewers put it best: "glad for the more restaurant approach, rather than another bar that will just change hands in another few months." Steaks are cut in house — ribeye, filet, New York strip. Rockfish and tuna come off boats working the same water you can see from the parking lot. Slow-roasted brisket, house-made bolognese, a full wine list.

Pay cash and you get the menu price. Card adds a 3.99% processing fee — we'd rather be upfront about it than bury it in the bill.

Book the room for your next celebration

Birthdays, rehearsal dinners, retirements, company parties — call and tell us the headcount and the date. There's no online form; whoever's handling events that day will walk you through what fits.

Regulars mention the ship paintings on the walls, the pool tables, and live music some nights — it's a real room, not a rented-out banquet hall.

Food and service was amazing! Place was clean and I liked the big ship paintings on the wall. Kid friendly for lunch and dinner. Definitely try the wings!

I tried the gyro with lamb. So good I came back and got another the next day. I'm glad for the more restaurant approach, rather than another bar that will just change hands in another few months.

We came in late just before they stopped serving dinner and was warmly greeted. The bartender was doing double duty. The food was delicious, and the decor was awesome.
